Volleyball Ousted Twice At PSU Abington Tri-Match

ABINGTON (Pa.) -- The Delaware Valley University volleyball team went to the Penn State Abington tri-match to take on the Nittany Lions and Lancaster Bible College, but dropped both contests by scores of 3-0. 

The Aggies (3-13) first took on the Chargers (10-10) and fell by scores of 25-22, 25-19, and 25-20. Lancaster Bible had 43 kills in the match to 14 for DelVal, but defensively the Aggies had five blocks led by three apiece from Krista Hiller and Laura Sweger. Caitlin Nemil added two blocks and four digs to go with a team-high 13 assists. Jess Ellick added 12 digs and Reilly Green led the way with five kills to go with one block. 

In the next match DelVal squared off against Penn State Abington (9-14), but dropped straight sets by scores of 25-21, 25-15, 25-9. The Aggies managed 25 kills in the match but the Nittany Lions surpassed it with 39. Four different Aggies had four kills or more led by six apiece from Hiller and Sweger. Hiller also pitched in team-high's of 12 digs and two service aces and Nemil recorded 20 assists and 10 digs. 

DelVal will get back to conference play with its annual "Dig Pink" game against King's College on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Doylestown.
