DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University men's soccer team hosted conference front-runner Steven's Technical Institute and Saturday afternoon and dropped a 3-0 decision.
The Ducks are unbeaten in league play with a 5-0-1 mark and 11-3-2 overall while the Aggies fell to 0-6 and 5-12-1.
Stevens first goal of the game came in the 14
th minute off a set piece. Cristiano Hocken sent a corner ball into the box and Jacob Curtis got his head on it for the early 1-0 lead. In the 42
nd minute it was another corner play that haunted DelVal. This time, Jon Valcarce sent the ball in and once again it was Curtis on the other end to put it home and the game was 2-0 at the half.
The Aggies were booked for two yellow cards in the second half. In the 67
th minute, Hocken got his third point of the game on a goal from an assist by Brendan Mulligan.
DelVal finished with two shots in the game, and one on goal. It will look to finish the season on a high note as it hosts Wilkes University next Saturday at 1 p.m. for senior day.
