DOOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University volleyball team celebrated its seniors and came away with a commanding 3-0 victory over the visiting Cheyney University Wolves. Set scores were 25-7, 25-11, and 25-6.
The Aggies improved to 6-17 overall and dropped Cheyney to 1-8. There is just one home game remaining in the regular season and in the careers of the three DelVal seniors,
Tara Moffa,
Alexis Sideris, and
Laura Sweger whom the Aggies honored with a special ceremony tonight.
The Aggies had 11 kills and only three errors in the first set without surrendering a single kill. DelVal had 11 kills again in the second and third sets led by
Laura Sweger and
Reilly Green who each had 10 kills.
Nemil had a match-high 25 assists and led the squad with a season-high eight service aces.
Tara Moffa paced the team with five digs and
Jess Ellick followed with four.
The Aggies had 33 kills and 27 service aces as a team compared to three kills and four aces for the Wolves.
Moffa finished the game with two kills and two assists to go along with her five digs. Moffa also registered the 1,000
th dig of her collegiate career.
Alexis Sideris impressed with five kills, four service aces, an assist, and three digs. Sweger had 10 kills on just 16 attempts with three service aces and one dig.
DelVal will return to action Wednesday, October 30
th, for it's last match of the season as it hosts Stevens University at 7 p.m.
