Men's Soccer Routs Penn State Hazleton

HAZLETON (Pa.) -- The Delaware Valley University men's soccer team got five points from senior Austin Daniels and another three from senior Andre Permyashkin as it rolled to a 4-0 triumph at Penn State Hazleton on Monday night. 

The Aggies improved to 5-7-1 overall while the Lions fell to 1-8-2. 

DelVal out shot Penn State 22-1 in the first half and took a 1-0 lead into the break as Daniels netted his team-leading sixth goal of the season off a feed from Dan Arone in the tenth minute. The Aggies also had six corners in the first stanza and held their opponent to zero. 

DelVal scored twice in less than 10 minutes in the second half to increase its lead to 3-0. First, Permyashkin set up Daniels for his second of the game before Daniels returned the favor by assisting on Permyashkin's first tally of the game in the 70th minute. Freshmen Matt Miller and Andreas Novak put the finishing touches on the contest as Novak set up Miller for his fourth goal if the season in the 87th minute for the 4-0 final. 

The Aggies finished the game with a season-best 45 shots, and 23 on goal, while holding the Nittany Lions to just two shots and one on target. Josh Jarrett got the win as he played all 90 minutes between the pipes.
