DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University women's soccer team played an evenly matched contest with visiting King's College, but came out on the wrong side of the 2-0 decision in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom bout.
The Aggies (1-9-1, 0-2 MAC Freedom) and the Monarchs (5-6-1, 1-1 MAC Freedom) each had four shots in the first half, but it was only the visitors that were able to find twine. In the 40
th minute, Kara Keim let a shot go from long distance that
Haley Young got a piece of, but it deflected into the top part of the net to make it 1-0 at the half.
The Monarchs added one more in the second when Emily Harrington dribbled pass the defense and beat the keeper one-on-one to double the advantage. King's held DelVal with just one shot and no corners in the final 45 minutes to secure the conference victory.
Young made three saves in goal for the Aggies and five different players registered a shot.
