CLARKS SUMMIT (PA) – The Delaware Valley University men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the 2018 season as Clarks Summit University scored in the 78
th minute and held on the rest of the way to earn a 2-1 home victory.
Each team had three shots on goal in the first half, but it was an unregistered shot that gave the Aggies (1-1) a 1-0 lead in the 41
st minute.
Joey Indelicato forced a turnover in Crusaders' (2-0) territory and played a ball into the box for
Nick Miller. Miller got a shot off that beat the keeper and ricocheted off a Clarks Summit defender and into the net, credited as an own goal.
Seconds before the halftime whistle, the Crusaders tied the game on Jan Rodriguez's first tally of the season. Rodriguez gathered a loose ball just inside the box and snuck a shot by the Aggie keeper to make it a 1-1 game at the break.
The two teams played an even second half on the natural grass surface, but it was Clarks Summit that eventually broke through in the 78

The Aggie keeper appeared to be obstructed on the play, but the referee indicated no foul play.
DelVal finished the game with five shots on goal to the Crusaders seven and the Aggies were called for 16 fouls to just four for their opponent.
Patrick Lawler came off the bench to lead DelVal with two shots on goal while
Josh Jarrett made five saves in net.
For Clarks Summit, Evan Rarick made five saves to earn the victory and Victor Obetta led the team with three shots on goal from the midfield position.
