WILKES-BARRE (PA) – Wilkes University picked up its first Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom victory of the year with a 3-0 win over visiting Delaware Valley University. Set scores were 25-17, 25-8 and 25-16.
The Colonels improved to 12-4 overall and 1-2 in the league while the Aggies fell to 3-8 and 0-3.
Wilkes had a strong hitting night as it registered 39 kills and had 12 digs in 95 attempts (.284), including a .450 hitting percentage in the second set. Alex Ferrier led the way with nine kills while Jamey Mikovich had nine kills. Karlye Huffman dished out 33 assists.
For DelVal,
Kayla Bracken notched eight of the team's 15 kills on the evening. She also added 12 digs and two service aces.
Danielle McKelvey's numbers included three kills, 10 assists and two blocks.

Tara Moffa dug out seven balls apiece in the match.
The Aggies, who hosted Gwynedd Mercy last night, will have their third match in four nights when they host non-conference foe Rutgers Newark on Friday, September 28.
