Aggie Women's Soccer Drops Home Decision To Albright

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Albright College scored three goals in a span of 10 minutes in the first half and cruised to a 3-1 non-conference victory over host, Delaware Valley University.

Austin Bieber shined for the Lions (6-1-1) in the first half as she picked up an assist on each of the first three goals. For the first, she sent a cross into the box and Kennedy Lutz headed it home from seven yards out.  Just over six minutes later she sent a through ball to Lauren Haley off a transition play, and Haley beat the keeper from inside the box. Amanda Fulcher was the recipient of Bieber's third helper as Albright held onto an early 3-0 lead.

With 1:05 left before the break the Aggies (3-4) earned a free kick from 35 yards out. Sarah Young stepped in to take the kick and sent a high arching ball just over the keeper's hands and into the back of the net to make it 3-1 going into the break.

In the second stanza, each team had chances to change the score, but neither could convert. Albright out shot DelVal 13-2 and held a 6-0 edge in corners as it came away with the 3-1 victory.

Haley Young played all 90 minutes in goal for the Aggies and made 10 saves while her counterpart, Payton Bogatch, made two saves at the other end.

DelVal will play its next four games on the road beginning on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. match at Susquehanna.
