Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Aggie Men's Soccer Falls To Wesley, 4-1

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Chimaobi Ikwuagwu scored three times as visiting Wesley College defeated Delaware Valley University in a non-conference affair Saturday night.

The Wolverines (7-1) struck first, just six minutes into the game. Danny Garza sent a corner ball into the box and Bruce Yeager got a head on the ball and sent it off the crossbar. The rebound fell to the ground and Matthew Dina jumped on the loose ball and tapped it into the net for an early 1-0 advantage.

The Aggies (3-4) managed just one shot in the first 45 minutes and trailed by one at the break.

Wesley doubled its lead five minutes into the second half as Luis Cruz sent a perfect cross to the far post where Chimaobi Ikwuagwu got a head on it and put it in the net. Five and a half minutes later, Ikwuagwu cashed in his second goal of the night and seventh of the year, this time off a feed from Danny Garza.

Trailing by three, DelVal nearly got one back moments later when Austin Daniels got behind the defense and ripped a shot from inside the box, but the keeper got a hand on it to knock it away. However, the Aggies did break through in the 61st minute as Evan Augsburger sent a long, high free kick into the box and Austin Daniels went up high to get a head on it, and put it over the keeper for a 3-1 game.

With 14:30 left in regulation Ikwuagwu scored his third of the game to ultimately seal the 4-1 road victory for the Wolverines. Wesley outshot DelVal 13-4 and had 12 corner attempts in the game. There were 19 fouls called against the Aggies and 10 against the Wolverines.

Josh Jarrett made nine saves for DelVal while Jason Sommer had three at the other end. Daniels notched his second goal of the season and sixth point, and for Augsburger it was his first assist.

The Aggies will be home again on Wednesday when they host Cabrini College at 7 p.m.
