HARRISONBURG (VA) – Delaware Valley University travelled to Virginia for the Route 42 Classic and opened its season with a 3-0 loss to Bryn Mawr College. Set scores were 25-15, 25-19 and 25-19 in favor of the Owls.
Down 1-0 in sets, the Aggies tied the second at 19-19. However, Bryn Mawr scored the last six points. The Owls then notched five of the last six points in the third for the sweep.

Kayla Bracken had a strong match for DelVal as she recorded 11 kills and three service aces. Fellow senior
Danielle McKelvey's numbers included four kills, 10 digs and 13 assists. Senior
Jess Holster paced the defensive effort with 11 digs and she also dished out four assists.
The Aggies will have two matches at the Classic on Saturday, September 1 starting with host Eastern Mennonite University at 10 a.m. and following with Mary Baldwin College at noon.
