DelVal Women's Lax Celebrates Senior Day, Falls To Misericordia

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University women's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday, but it was Misericordia University that came away with the 21-5, Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom win.

The Cougars remained perfect in conference play with a 3-0 record (7-6 overall) while the Aggies dropped to 4-6 overall and 0-3 in the league.

It was the last home weekend game of the year for DelVal which honored its five seniors – Alex Bukeavich, Kara Imes, Janee' Rhone, Krystal Serdinsky and Taylor Teliszewski – before the contest. They are the first, four-year recruiting class in program history.

Misericordia scored the first six goals of the afternoon and never looked back. After the Aggies got on the board with an unassisted goal by freshman Claire Gamache, the Cougars responded with the final seven tallies of the first half for a 13-1 lead at the break.

DelVal got the first two goals of the second stanza as Imes and Rhone connected just 95 seconds apart. The Cougars recorded five of the next six goals with the Aggies' lone tally in the run coming from sophomore Amana McKeegan. Fellow sophomore Sabrina Butler connected with 7:16 remaining before Misericordia got the final three for the 21-5 final.

The Cougars held advantages of 38-10 in shots, 21-8 in ground balls and 18-9 in draw controls. Kate Raab and Kailia Quinlivan notched four goals apiece with Quinlivan adding an assist. Olivia Garcia netted three goals and a helper while Amy Roth scored once and assisted on three others. Brianna Ladner had eight draw controls, four ground balls and three caused turnovers.

For the Aggies, Gamache led the team with five draw controls and three caused turnovers to go with her one goal. Imes added two draw controls. Amanda Dietrich stopped nine shots in net.

DelVal will travel to King's College for a MAC Freedom game on Wednesday, April 18 (5 p.m.).
