Aggies Cruise To Third Straight Victory With 84-66 Victory Over Lions

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University men's basketball team earned its third straight victory as it cruised to an 86-44 triumph over visiting Bryn Athyn College in a non-conference tilt.

Winners of their last three, and four of their last five, the Aggies are now 6-3 overall including a pair of Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom wins. The Lions fell to 3-7 overall.

Bryn Athyn went on a 9-4 run to take a 13-12 lead with 10:49 left in the first half. From there it was all DelVal as the Aggies outscored the Lions 32-10 the rest of the way to take a 44-23 lead into halftime.

Sophomores Lybrant Robinson and Damian Washington combined for 23 points through the first 20 minutes of action to lead the way.

The duo combined for the first eight Aggie points to start the second half, and they led by as many as 25 at 52-27 with 17:43 left in regulation. DelVal shot 33-for-70 (47.1%) for the game and held Bryn Athyn to 25-of-60 (41.7%) and rolled to the 84-66 home triumph.

Washington finished with a team-high 22 points and added nine rebounds, three blocks, two assists and a steal. Robinson finished with 18 points with a pair of treys. Senior Alex Matsinye registered a double-double with 18 points and 10 boards and added four assists. Damani Myers paced the defense with three steals and Andre' Butler finished with eight points and seven rebounds. Another sophomore, Craig Rosenberger, came off the bench and knocked down his first collegiate 3-pointer late in the game.

Lamarr Crenshaw led the Lions with a game-high 20 points and completed the double-double with 12 rebounds. Rahim Washington followed with 15 points and six rebounds.

The Aggies will head to Centenary College for a road contest on Friday at 2 p.m.
