Box Score ALLENTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University women's basketball team placed three players in double-figure scoring to defeat Penn State Berks, 66-43, in the consolation game of the Scotty Wood Tournament at Muhlenberg College.
The Aggies improved to 3-1 overall while the Lions fell to 0-3.
With the game tied at 8-8, DelVal scored the next five points behind a trey from
Ashley Smink and an
Emily Kutskel layup. It took a 13-10 lead into the second quarter.
Penn State Berks came back to tie the game at 15 apiece, but the Aggies outscored the Lions 15-5 the rest of the stanza and led 30-20 at the break.
Dom Moser scored seven of the team's final 11 points to close the half.
The lead expanded to 17 after a
Lauren Moretti three-ball made it 39-22, but the Lions went on an 8-0 run to cut it back to single digits. They pulled to within seven, 41-34, late in the third quarter, but another Moser trey made it 44-34 heading into the fourth.
In the final ten minutes, DelVal outscored Penn State Berks 22-9 to seal the 23-point victory.
Moser led all players in the game with 19 points and nine rebounds while adding a pair of assists. Kutskel scored a career-high 16 points and also grabbed nine boards and Smink scored 15 points and
was 7-for-7 from the free throw line. Moretti finished with eight points including a pair of 3-pointers.
The Aggies will be off for 10 days before taking on Brooklyn College at home on November, 27 at 7 p.m.
