WILKES BARRE (PA) – King's College scored in the 47
th minute off a corner kick opportunity to move past visiting Delaware Valley University, 1-0, on Saturday night in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom tilt.
The Monarchs moved to 3-3 in league play and 6-8 overall and currently sit hold the final playoff spot with one game left to play. In the second half, the Monarchs capitalized on their first of seven corner opportunities just 1:24 into the second stanza. King's held the Aggies to one shot, none on goal, to hold onto the 1-0 win.
Haley Young played 90 minutes in goal for DelVal and made nine saves while her counterpart, Jess Schenfeld, made one save.
DelVal will honor its seniors in the final home game of the season against DeSales University on Friday night at 7 p.m.
