WILKES BARRE (PA) – King's College scored five goals in the second half to cruise to a 7-0 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom win over visiting Delaware Valley University.
The Monarchs moved to 5-1 in league play and 10-4-2 overall. They currently sit in second place in the MAC Freedom standings with one conference game to play. The Aggies dropped to 3-12 overall and 0-6 in league games.
King's got its first goal in the 11
th minute when Alastair Dinnan received a header from Fabio Massa inside the box and deposited it into the net. Owen Geedey also got credited with an assist.
In the 32
nd minute, the Monarchs earned a penalty kick and August Axtman beat the keeper for the 2-0 lead.
In the second half, Sam DiBella earned his second yellow card for DelVal, and the Aggies played the remainder of the game down a man and trailing 3-0. King's went on to score four goals while playing a man-up to earn the 7-0 home triumph.
Dinnan finished the game with two goals for four points and Massa earned a goal and an assist for three points. Will Brack and Jacob Hofenspirger also notched a goal apiece and Aach Wolcott had two assists.
Josh Jarrett made eight saves in goal for DelVal.
The Aggies will play three games next week beginning with a 6 p.m. affair at Gwynedd Mercy on Tuesday, October 23.
