ST. DAVIDS (PA) – Eastern University scored four times in the first half and cruised to a 5-0 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom victory over the visiting Delaware Valley University men's soccer team.
The Eagles (12-2-1, 5-0 MAC Freedom) got goals from five different players in this game and remained undefeated in league play at atop the MAC Freedom standings. Jacob Myers started the scoring in the 17
th minute with a tap-in goal after assists from Jake Sankey and Colin Furlong. Less than a minute later, Billy Walenda scored with a header to make it a 2-0 game.
Eastern added two more in the half, including a penalty kick goal from Liam Harmon to take a 4-0 lead after 45 minutes. In the waning minutes of the game, Andrew Fenstermacher slid a pass to the right post and David Pegalla put it home for the 5-0 final.
The Aggies (3-11, 0-5 MAC Freedom) registered just one shot on goal and it came from freshman
Dan Marcolongo off the bench.
Josh Jarrett played all 90 minutes in goal and made 15 saves.
Today marked the start of a three-game road stand for the Aggies as they head to King's College on Saturday to take on the Monarch's at 7:30 p.m.
