Aggie Women's Soccer Falls At Eastern

ST. DAVIDS (PA) – Calla Gibson's goal was not enough as Delaware Valley University dropped a 2-1, Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom decision to host Eastern University.

The Eagles (6-8-1, 2-2-1 MAC Freedom) scored on two of their eight, first-half shots for a 2-0 advantage. Less than three minutes in, Nicole Weenink finished from in close off a Kayla Patitucci assist. Then midway through the stanza, Amy Radcliffe connected thanks to a feed from Weenink.

Gibson cut Eastern's lead in half with 19:38 remaining in the contest as she got her own rebound and put it in the net for her second goal of the season. The Aggies (4-10, 1-4) produced three more shots down the stretch, the last coming with 3:11 to go, but they could not record the tying goal.

DelVal and the Eagles had 17 shots apiece with Eastern holding a 3-2 edge in corners. Haley Young had three saves in the first half for the Aggies while Maddy Medina made four stops over the final 45 minutes. Adrianna Rowlands notched nine saves for the Eagles.

DelVal will travel to King's College for a MAC Freedom battle on Saturday, October 20 (5 p.m.).
