Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Aggies Homecoming Spoiled By Misericordia

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Misericordia University scored three first half goals to spoil the Delaware Valley University men's soccer homecoming and earn a 3-0 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom victory.

The Cougars improved to 3-9-1 overall and 2-2-0 I in MAC Freedom play while the Aggies dropped to 3-10 and 0-4.

Misericordia got on the board in the fifth minute as John Caracappa and Nick Szczerba worked a nice two-man game that resulted in Caracappa sliding one past the keeper. In the 12th minute Szczerba sprung Ethan Benedict on a breakaway to make it 2-0. Szczerba was not done feeding his teammates as Bryson Smith became the benefactor of another assist in the 22nd minute. The Cougars maintained a 3-0 lead at the half.

In the second half, Misericordia had nine shots to the Aggies two, but neither team got on the board and the Cougars ran away with the 3-0 win.

Szczerba led all players with three points in the game with three points on three assists and Dominic Pizzi made one save in goal.

Josh Jarrett played all 90 minutes in goal for DelVal and made five saves.

The Aggies will resume MAC Freedom play on Wednesday at Eastern University with a 3 p.m. tip.
