DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Tatiana Nieto's goal 20 minutes into the game proved to be the lone tally as FDU-Florham registered a 1-0, Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom victory over host Delaware Valley University.
The Devils improved to 9-3-2 overall and 1-1-1 in league action while the Aggies fell to 4-8 and 1-2.
FDU-Florham was awarded a free kick and Nieto stepped up to take it from 25 yards out. She curved a shot into the left side of the net for the goal.
The Devils had 13 shots in each half while DelVal managed three shots on the evening with one each from
Tessa Coleman,
Alyssa Gibson and
Samantha Greim.
Haley Young, the reigning MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week, stopped 11 shots in goal for the Aggies while Ashley Paulino had three saves and the shutout.
DelVal will host two-time defending MAC Freedom champion Misericordia University for Homecoming on Saturday, October 13 (5 p.m.).
