DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University volleyball team opened its 2017-18 campaign at Penn State Brandywine on Friday, but fell to the Lions 3-1 in interim head coach
Janel Gluch's debut. Set scores were 25-15, 25-16, 17-25 and 25-13.
Penn State improved its record to 3-1 on the year while the Aggies sit at 0-1.
In the first two sets, the Lions totaled 22 kills and five errors compared to 15 kills and 17 errors for DelVal to set up a must-win third set for the Aggies.
DelVal atoned in the third with 13 kills and just one error while holding Penn State to 10 kills with four errors. Junior

Kate Woolsey each notched five kills in the set.
The Aggies could not muster any offense in the fourth set as they totaled just six kills while committing five errors as the Lions surged to the 3-1 victory.
Bracken racked up a double-double with a game-high 16 digs to go with 13 kills. Setter
Danielle McKelvey had 28 assists and two service aces. Woolsey finished with eight kills. As a team, DelVal had 34 kills, 32 assists, 23 errors and six service aces.
Nikki Poissant led all players with 18 kills and added 15 digs. Three other Lions finished with double-digit digs while Sullivan Stark notched a game-high 32 assists. Overall, Penn State had 43 kills, 41 assists, 12 service aces and 14 errors.
