Aggies Women's Soccer Earns 5-0 Triumph On Home Turf

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Samantha Greim had a six-point night on two goals and two assists to lead Delaware Valley University to a 5-0 home victory over non-conference foe Penn State Schuylkill.
 
The Aggies earned their first win of the season on home turf to improve to 2-6-1 overall while handing the Lions (2-1) their first loss.
 
DelVal struck first 15 minutes into the game when Taylor Boyer slid a through ball into the box for Samantha Greim who deposited her third goal of the season. Just over ten minutes later Greim connected for her second of the night, this time off the pass from Calla Gibson to make it 2-0.
 
The Aggies defense held Penn State to just one shot in the first stanza and maintained the two-goal lead into the break.
 
In the second half, Boyer and Greim connected twice in a span of 2:19 on near identical goals. On each occasion, Greim sent a perfect cross into the box and Boyer was on the other end to head it home.
 
Somer Meadath converted on a penalty kick with 9:24 left in regulation to give DelVal the 5-0 victory.
 
The Aggies defense held the Lions to just three shots on goal for the game while the offense ripped off 18 of their own. Madelyne Medina and Haley Young split the time in goal making two and one save respectively.
 
Boyer led all players with six shots on goal to go with two goals and an assist and Gibson had four shots on goal and an assist. Freshman Jennifer Wood had three strikes on net.
 
DelVal will play its first league match of the year on Friday when they host Wilkes University at 7 p.m.­­­
