ABINGTON (PA) – The Delaware Valley University volleyball team earned a split as it competed in a tri-match at Penn State Abington. The Aggies lost their first match to Saint Elizabeth, 3-1, but rallied to beat the Lions 3-0 in the second match.
DelVal (2-5) won the first set against the Eagles (3-9) by a score of 25-18. Saint Elizabeth took the next three sets by scores of 25-17, 25-20 and 25-21.
Kayla Bracken led the Aggies with 11 kills, two blocks and two service aces.
Kamdyn Steets had 21 assists while
Alexis Sideris and
Kate Woolsey added 12 and 10 digs respectively.
The Eagles were led by the 17 assists, 10 digs, 10 kills and four services aces of Maura Farley. Christy Marte added six kills and seven digs while Diane Cuevas notched five service aces.
DelVal controlled its second match against Penn State Abington (6-6) as they won in straight sets of 25-21, 25-12 and 25-15. Bracken and
Taylor Klecan led the Aggies with six kills apiece and combined for 18 digs and seven service aces. Steets had a match-high 18 assists and Woolsey added three service aces of her own.
Cortney Schwar led the Lions with seven assists and five kills while Cori Watson led all players with 17 digs.
