Aggies Volleyball Earns A Split At College Of Staten Island Tri-Match

STATEN ISLAND (NY) – Delaware Valley University volleyball competed in the College of Staten Island tri-match and defeated the host school 3-0 before being upended by Farmingdale State College, 3-0.
 
With the split, the Aggies move to 3-8 overall. The host Dolphins are now 3-12 while the Rams improved to 10-7 on the year.
 
DelVal took down the College of Staten Island with set scores of 25-16, 25-15 and 25-20. As a team, it doubled its opponent in kills, 30-15, with a 22-7 advantage in service aces. Taylor Klecan had a match-high 10 kills while recording the same number of digs. Kate Woolsey led the squad with 17 digs and seven service aces to go with six kills and Danielle McKelvey earned 19 assists. Defensively, Kayla Bracken had a match-high three blocks.
 
In the second match, Farmingdale State used set scores of 25-13, 25-16 and 25-13 to down DelVal. Kills were 38-15 and services aces were 14-3, in favor of the victor. Annie Cosgrave and Kelsey Voiklis each had nine kills to lead the Rams while Maia Cadle-Hinton had five service aces and four blocks.
 
For the Aggies, McKelvey picked up 10 assists and nine digs. Bracken also had nine digs to go with seven kills, one block and one ace. Woolsey had two service aces.
 
DelVal will host Manhattanville College on Wednesday, October 11 at 7 p.m. in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom tilt.
