Aggie Men's Soccer Toppled By Defending Conference Champs

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Defending Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom champion Eastern University scored early and often to upend host Delaware Valley University, 7-0.
 
The Eagles improved to 8-3 overall and 1-1 in league games on this campaign while the Aggies fell to 5-6 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
 
Eastern got on the board with an own goal by DelVal just 8:50 into the game. Just 15 seconds later, the Eagles earned a penalty kick after a player was pulled down in the box, and senior Jadon Ramsing capitalized to make it a 2-0 game.
 
Eastern scored two more goals in the 28th and 29th minutes of the opening stanza.
 
The Aggies surrendered another own goal early in the second half and Sam Sutherland and Billy Walenda each picked up late tallies to give Eastern the 7-0 victory.
 
Five different players scored for the Eagles including Walenda who had two goals. Ramsing, Sutherland and Jacob Myers had the others while Colin Furlong and Jared Wisdom picked up the only two assists of the game. Three different goalies contributed in the shutout including Quentin Kiebler who played the entire first half and earned the win.
 
Connor Hedgepeth played all 90 minutes in goal for DelVal and made a career-high 14 saves. On the offensive end, Evan Augsburger and Nick Miller each registered a shot on goal.
 
The Aggies have six games remaining, five in conference, including the next match at FDU-Florham on Wednesday, October 11 at 3:30 p.m.
