MADISON (NJ) – FDU-Florham hosted Delaware Valley University for a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom game on Wednesday afternoon and posted a 7-0 victory.
It was the second win of the year for the Devils as they improved to 2-10 overall and 2-1 in the MAC Freedom. The Aggies fell to 5-7 and 0-3.
FDU-Florham needed just 1:41 to get on the scoreboard as Ricky La Stella got loose on a breakaway and beat Aggie goalkeeper
Connor Hedgepeth. La Stella scored the game's next two goals, both off assists from Zavier Paniagua, for the hat trick and a 3-0 lead.
Jake Karlsberg, Justin Barbosa and Brian Chiarello scored in a three-minute span while Michael Rosario connected for a tally with 4:31 left in the first half for the Devils as they took a 7-0 advantage into the intermission. Neither team scored in the second half.
FDU-Florham had 25 of the game's 31 shots and all eight corners. Hedgepeth recorded seven saves for the Aggies while two keepers combined for the shutout for FDU-Florham.
DelVal will host King's College for Homecoming and a MAC Freedom game on Saturday, October 14 (7 p.m.).
