MADISON (NJ) – The Delaware Valley University volleyball team hit the road for a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom match on Tuesday and suffered a 3-0 loss at FDU-Florham. Set scores were 25-10, 25-6 and 25-9.
The Devils improved to 15-3 overall and 3-1 in conference action while the Aggies fell to 2-7 and 0-4.
FDU-Florham never trailed during the contest as it finished with 39 kills and just nine errors in 89 attempts while DelVal had 13 kills and 14 miscues in 81 attack attempts. Melissa Gaffney and Lauren Harris paced the Devils with 12 and 10 kills respectively while they each added eight digs. Courtney Conte dished out 25 assists.
For the Aggies,
Kayla Bracken finished the evening with five kills and eight digs.
Kate Woolsey added four kills and seven digs while
Danielle McKelvey dugs out seven balls and handed out 12 assists. Bracken and McKelvey also teamed up for a block.
Taylor Klecan had three kills and seven digs in the loss.
DelVal will travel to the College of Staten Island for a tri-match on Saturday, October 7. The Aggies will take on the host Dolphins at noon followed by a contest against Farmingdale State College at 2 p.m.
