Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Aggies' Offense Explodes For 5-0 Victory In Final Home Game

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University men's soccer team exploded for five goals while the defense pitched a shutout to earn a 5-0 non-conference victory in its final home contest of the season.

With one game remaining in the season, the Aggies improved to 6-10 overall while the Patriots concluded their 2017 campaign with a 3-12 overall mark.

DelVal was in control from the beginning and ripped off three shots and two corners in the game's first 15 minutes. Sean Maley had a shot that rang of the post in that span.

It finally broke through in the 22nd minute when Andre Permyashkin charged to the end-line and sent a cross through the box that was tapped in by Kaisean Freedman for his first goal of the season.

Freedman then made it a two-goal game with his second of the night, 9:22 before the break. This time, he struck a bouncing ball from 25 yards out and it dove in under the bar and over the outstretched keeper. The game remained 2-0 into the second half.

Early in the second stanza, Permyashkin beat the Patriot's keeper to a loose ball and poked it behind him and toward the empty net where defenders tried to save it, but inadvertently knocked it in for an own goal and a 3-0 game.

Nick Miller tacked on two goals in a span of 2:58 for the 5-0 final. His first tally was assisted by Permyashkin and Billy Frazier, Jr. who executed a long throw-in to spark the play. The second, and his team-leading sixth of the season, was assisted by Freedman and Sam Dibella. Dibella played Freedman in and the senior sent a perfect cross through the box on his first touch and Miller tapped it in.

Aggies keeper Connor Hedgepeth made four big saves in the second half and finished with five on the night to preserve his fourth shutout of the season.

Freedman and Miller had two goals apiece while DelVal racked up a total of five assists including two from Permyashkin and one apiece from Dibella, Frazier, Jr. and Freedman. Miller now leads the team with 11 points on the year and Permyashkin follows with 10.

Bryan Ardon made two saves in goal for the Patriots and Billy Peron led the team with three shots, two on goal.

The Aggies will put a ribbon on the 2017 season when it heads to Misericordia University for a 5:30 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, October 28.
