DelVal Men's Soccer Celebrates Seniors, Falls To Manhattanville

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley University honored its seniors before the game but the celebration was spoiled as visiting Manhattanville College took the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom bout, 5-0.

The Valiants improved to 7-8-1 overall and 2-3-1 in league play while the Aggies dropped to 5-10 and 0-6.

Before the game DelVal honored its three seniors on team - Kaisean Freedman, Zach Miller and Austin Wilson. The trio have combined for three goals, two assists and eight points during their time with the Aggies with Miller even serving as an assistant coach for a year before joining the team on the field.

In this game, Manhattanville opened up a 2-0 lead with two goals separated by just 51 seconds in the eighth minute of the contest. Pablo Bravo and Oskar Martinsson were the beneficiaries of two passes from Marius Nicolaysen.

The Valiants tacked on one more before the break to take a 3-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half Bravo completed his hat-trick with goals in the 45th and 50th minutes. DelVal had two shots in the half, one on goal, and one corner kick but could not cut into the deficit as Manhattanville took the 5-0 victory.

Connor Hedgepeth played all 90 minutes in goal for the Aggies and made three saves. DelVal will wrap up the season with two games next week beginning with a non-conference match against the University of Valley Forge on Wednesday, October 25 at 7 p.m.
