DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Sophomore
Nick Miller scored a highlight reel goal with 2:28 remaining to give the Delaware Valley University men's soccer team a 2-1 victory over visiting Wilson College on Monday night.
Miller chased down a throw-in then reversed course and chipped the ball over a defender that was closing in before doing the same over the goalkeeper. The result got the Aggies back over the .500 mark as they sit at 3-2 on the season. The Phoenix dropped to 1-2-1.
The teams were scoreless at halftime with Wilson holding a 9-3 advantage in shots. It was DelVal that struck first, however, with just 6:04 gone in the second half. Freshman
Andre Permyashkin streaked down the left side then sent a cross towards the goal. It was deflected in by senior
Max Drummond for his first goal of the year.
The Phoenix evened the score with 26:13 to go. Shane Ray sent the ball ahead and sprung Raihan Azim for a breakaway. Azim beat the goalkeeper to the right side of the goal.
