Men’s soccer suffers a dramatic 1-0 loss against King’s College

DOYLESTOWN Pa,- A tense hard fought battle came down to seconds on Tuesday, as King's College pulled off a dramatic 1-0 victory over Delaware Valley University thanks to a game winnning goal in the final minute of the game.

The opening 45 minutes set a physical and cautious tone, with both sides trading defensive stops and feeling each other out. Both starting goalkeepers Valkenburg for King's and Nick Becker from DelVal were sharp early on. Becker turned away dangerous attempts, from Jones and Cedillo, with King's keeper turned away attempts from Samuel Kaellefors.

Referees kept a close eye on a flurry of early fouls and corner kicks, nut neither offense could crack the opposing back line. Halftime score was 0-0.

The second half saw both teams heavily utilize substitutions to inject fresh legs and break the deadlock, leading to an open, frantic pace down the stretch. DelVal's Roy Hevener and Zydan Stewart both tested Valkenburg with dangerous shots that were safely gathered, while King's peppered Becker with attempts from Gutowski and Villano. In the 61st minute DelVal team got a yellow card. 7 minutes later in the 68th minute Aggies' Zydan Stewart received a yellow card. Later in the 82nd minute, DelVal's Nathan Congdon got a yellow card but eventually in the 87th minute a Kings player, Cedillo received a yellow card.

Just as it looked like the match was heading to a scoreless draw, King's broke through. As there was a battle in the 88th minute DelVal's Chalie Sheel received a yellow card. After Becker made a diving save on a shot by Cedillo in the 89th minute, King's maintained pressure, and Cedillo capitalised just ten seconds later, burying a shot off an assist from Tirado to make it 1-0 with only 30 seconds left on the clock. After the goal was made Kings Lagunas got a yellow card.  In the 90th minute Aggies' Amos Debah got a red card.

The Aggies will be finishing their season Saturday October 31st at 12:00 p.m. home against FDU- Florham.
