Nick Miller scored a pair of goals off rebounds as Delaware Valley University blanked visiting Pennsylvania College of Technology, 2-0, in a rainy non-conference match-up on Thursday.
The win was the second straight for the Aggies as they moved their overall mark to 7-10-1 while the Wildcats fell to 3-16.
DelVal outshot Penn College, 15-2, in the first half and had all six of the corner opportunities in those 45 minutes of action, but the game was scoreless thanks to four saves by Wildcat goalkeeper Hunter Gosnell and one shot that hit the crossbar.
The Aggies kept the pressure on after the intermission, but hit another crossbar on an
Alex Wilson blast. However, the rebound went right to Miller who headed it into the empty net in the 55
th minute. Seventeen minutes later, Miller was in the right place at the right time again as he snagged the rebound off an Alec Scarano shot and put it in for his team-best 10
th goal of the year.
???????DelVal finished with a 29-12 advantage in shots and also had a 6-3 edge in corners.
Connor Hedgepeth recorded four saves and the shutout while Gosnell wound up with 11 stops on the night.
The Aggies will wrap up the 2016 season on Saturday, October 29 (2:30 p.m.) when they host regionally-ranked Misericordia University for a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom contest.
