Box Score PURCHASE (NY) – Omar Parra and Robin Schaufele netted two goals apiece to lead host Manhattanville College to a 6-1 victory over Delaware Valley University in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom game.
Parra scored his goals in a 78-second span in the first half with Schaufele assisted on the second tally for a 2-0 Valiants (10-7, 3-3) lead. The Aggies (5-10-1, 0-6) cut that advantage in half with 32:18 remaining as
Alex Wilson sent a free kick into the box and
Nick Miller was there to head it in for his eighth goal of the year.
However, Manhattanville answered just 50 seconds later as Schaufele scored after receiving a feed from Parra. The Valiants then got tallies from Jack Balasiano and Schaufele in the latter stages of the first half to take a 5-1 lead into the break. Oskar Martinsson ended the game's scoring in the 79
th minute.
Manhattanville finished with advantages of 27-8 in shots and 9-2 in corners.
Connor Hedgepeth and
Sean Conroy each played a half in net for DelVal and two combined for 10 saves.
DelVal will travel to University of Valley Forge for a non-conference game on Tuesday, October 25 (3:30 p.m.).
