Kayla Bracken,
Taylor Klecan and
Kate Woolsey notched nine kills apiece to lead the Delaware Valley University volleyball team to a 3-0, non-conference victory over visiting Rosemont College on Thursday. Set scores were 25-16, 25-19, 25-19.
The Aggies celebrated its annual Pink Out with both teams wearing the color to support Breast Cancer Awareness month. The win improved DelVal to 5-14 on the season while the Ravens fell to 1-18.
The Aggies had all of the team's kills on the evening as the squad finished with a .262 hitting percentage. The team also served up 15 aces.
DelVal jumped out to a 17-5 lead in the first set and cruised the rest of the way. In the second, the teams were tied at 12-12 before the Aggies ran off six straight points, including three kills from Klecan, to pull away. Then in the third set, it was tight throughout before DelVal recorded five of the final six points to secure the match.
Bracken added five digs to her big hitting night while Klecan had seven digs. Woolsey finished with seven service aces and five digs.
Jess Holster served up three aces and
Nicole Daigneault dished out 23 assists.
For Rosemont, Morgan Rollins led the way with seven kills and five digs. Leilan Naone-Cater had 14 assists and four digs.
DelVal will hold its Senior Day on Saturday, October 22 (11 a.m.) when it hosts Centenary College for a non-conference match-up.
