Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The College of New Jersey defeated the Delaware Valley University women's basketball team, 62-54 in a non-conference game on Wednesday.
The Aggies dropped to 3-8 on the season while the Lions are 3-6.
The two teams were evenly matched in the first quarter with TCNJ holding a 14-10 lead after one. The Aggies led 7-4 and the Lions closed out the period with a 10-3 run. Four players scored in the surge. Junior
Sam Foy got DelVal within two (14-12) with a jumper to begin the second. TCNJ then went on a 9-1 run to go ahead by 10 (23-13) with 3:42 remaining in the half. Sophomore Cindy Napolitano recorded five points and senior Angelica Esposito and junior Katy Amato had two apiece. The Lions had a 26-18 advantage at the intermission.
The Aggies came out firing to begin the second half, scoring 15 of the first 19 points to lead 33-30 with 4:10 on the clock. Senior

Kelsey Kilpatrick nailed a three and freshmen
Brianna Rivello and
Danielle Skedzielewski and Foy each had two points. DelVal had a four-point cushion (37-33) with 2:47 to go in the frame. TCNJ then orchestrated a 12-2 run that bled into the fourth quarter, making the score 45-39 with 9:22 left. Esposito had six points, sophomore Nikki Schott tallied four and junior Taryn Corrigan converted a pair of free throws.
The Aggies cut the deficit to one (45-44) but the Lions responded with 11 of the next 12 for an 11-point lead (56-45). Foy made it a four-point game (58-54) with a jumper at the 38-second mark but Esposito put the game away with four foul shots down the stretch.
Esposito led the Lions with 17 points followed by 14 from Napolitano. Esposito also grabbed eight rebounds while senior Jess Lynch and sophomore Charlotte Schum had six and five respectively.
Anastasi finished with a game-high 21 points for DelVal. Skedzielewski totaled 13 and Kilpatrick and Foy contributed nine apiece. Rivello and Skedzielewski each corralled 11 rebounds and Foy came up with seven.
The Aggies' final contest before the holiday break is on Saturday, December 19 at Juniata College (12:00 p.m.).
