Box Score DALLAS (PA) – Seven different Misericordia University players notched goals as the Cougars opened Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom play with a 7-0 home victory over Delaware Valley University.
Misericordia upped its overall record to 5-3-1 while the setback dropped the Aggies to 4-6-1.
The Cougars connected on five of their 12 shots in the first half to take a 5-0 lead into the intermission. Hunter Casya and Matt Norcini scored 40 seconds apart in the opening three and a half minutes and they were followed by tallies from George Stock, Kevin Matlon and Colin Snyder. Derek Antonini and Tristan Snyder finished off the scoring in the second stanza.
DelVal finished with five shots in the game, including two apiece from
Alec Scarano and
Peter Tantillo. Freshman
Connor Hedgepeth went the distance in net and finished with 10 saves. P.J. Steiner had three saves and the shutout for Misericordia.
The Aggies will be home for the next three games, beginning with a non-conference tilt against Gwynedd-Mercy University on Tuesday, October 6.
