Box Score CENTER VALLEY (PA) – The Delaware Valley University men's soccer team hit the road for the final time in 2015 and suffered a 7-0 setback at Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom foe DeSales University.
The Bulldogs (6-8-1, 1-2-2 MAC Freedom) struck for three goals in the first half and four in the second as seven of their 19 shots on the day found the net. Six different players scored, including Max Cortina, who struck just 13:24 into the contest. Zach Reichard and Michael Kirby also notched tallies in the opening stanza. Kirby assisted on the first two goals.
Charlie Jerry started the second-half scoring just 15 seconds in. Reichard, Dan Rumpf and Cheikh Thiam accounted for the remaining goals.
The Aggies (4-11-1, 0-5) who suffered injuries to four defenders, recorded eight shots and two corners in the game.
Alec Scarano and
Nick Miller combined for five of the eight attempts.
Connor Hedgepeth and
Austin Brotman combined for three saves. Dan Sulpizio had four stops and the shutout for DeSales.
DelVal will host Manhattanville College for the next-to-last MAC Freedom game of the season on Saturday, October 24.
