Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Eastern University men's soccer team continued its season to remember as the ninth-ranked Eagles scored four times in the first half for a 4-0, Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom win at Delaware Valley University.
Eastern remained undefeated as it improved to 12-0-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play. The Aggies slipped to 4-9-1 and 0-3 in the MAC Freedom.
It was all Eagles in the opening 45 minutes as they racked up 19 shots and four of them found their way into the back of the net. The first came just 7:43 in on Cade Harmon tally off a feed from Josh Cirocco. Fifteen minutes later, Billy Walenda picked up his own rebound and scored on an empty net. Sean Doughtery then had two goals in a two-minute span, the first on a blast off a loose ball and the second on a header off a cross from Jereme Wells.
After going without a shot in the first half, DelVal battled in the second stanza and outshot Eastern, 6-5.
Alec Scarano had three of the six shots while
Peter Tantillo had two and
Max Drummond had one.
Jamie Stratto and Ben Lochstampfor combined for four saves and the shutout. Freshman
Connor Hedgepeth had nine saves for the Aggies, including eight in the first half.
DelVal travels to FDU-Florham for a MAC Freedom contest on Saturday, October 17.
