Less than five minutes into the second half, Delaware Valley senior
Steve Mannato got the first goal of the contest and his team-leading sixth of the year to put the Aggies up 1-0. Mannato received a finessed through ball in the box from
Max Drummond and made no mistak, as he beat the Devils keeper with a hard low shot from eight yards out.
The lead was short-lived as FDU-Florham countered less than 10 minutes later when Chaz Armand and Dylan Meyler played give-and-go at the top of the box for Armand's fifth goal of the season and a 1-1 game. The Devils went on to score three more times in the next 20 minutes of play, including two in a row from Andrew Ruane after a tally from Jay Bower made it 2-1.
On a cold, rain soaked field neither team could generate much offense in the first half, but Delaware Valley keeper
Austin Brotman was there to make seven saves in the stanza to keep the game scoreless going into the break. Brotman played all 90 minutes for the Aggies and made 11 saves as FDU-Florham totaled 33 shots to Delaware Valley's three. Nick Mihalik earned the win in goal for the Devils making two saves.
