Box Score PURCHASE (NY) – Manhattanville College scores three goals in a span of 9 minutes, 39 seconds late in the second half as the Valiants defeated visiting Delaware Valley College in the Freedom Conference opener for both squads.
The loss dropped the Aggies to 2-8-2 overall and 0-1 in league play while Manhattanville improved to 4-6-0 and 1-0.
The Delaware Valley defense was able to stave off a Manhattanville attack that saw the Valiants outshoot the Aggies, 8-0, in the first half and added four more shots in the opening 29 minutes of the second stanza.
It wasn't until the 74
th minute that the Valiants got on the board when Robin Schaufele scored his first of the year from a Kevin O'Reilly assist. Just over three minutes later, Ryan Kenny got his first tally of the season when he headed home a cross from Jesper Hjalm. Jami Macchia added the third and final goal with 7:07 left.
