DELVAL WOMEN FALL, 80-61, AT MISERICORDIA

Box Score DALLAS (PA) – Misericordia University outscored Delaware Valley College, 47-27, in the second half as the host Cougars turned a one-point halftime deficit into an 80-61, Freedom Conference victory.

The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the Aggies as they fell to 11-6 overall and 4-2 in the Freedom. They still remain in sole possession of third place in the standings, one game ahead of both DeSales and Misericordia, which improved to 7-9 overall with Saturday's win. Delaware Valley will end the first half of conference play with a trip to defending champion and undefeated FDU-Florham on Wednesday, January 29.

The Aggies trailed by eight in the early going, but they hit five of their nine attempts from 3-point land and built a six-point lead with three minutes remaining in the first half. Agatha Drozd dropped in two of those treys as she finished with 14 points in the stanza.

However, Misericordia scored the final five points of the first half to trail 34-33. The Cougars then scored the first 10 of the second stanza, including seven by Hannah Seely, for a nine-point advantage. Delaware Valley responded with a 7-2 spurt, highlighted by a Kelsey Kilpatrick trey, to make it a 45-41 contest with 15:35 remaining.

Misericordia countered with 17 of the game's next 24 points over a six-minute span to go up 62-48. A trio of bombs from Kilpatrick and a layup by Drozd were the Aggies' points in an 11-2 run that made it a 64-59 contest with 5:39 on the clock. However, it was all Cougars the rest of the way as they held Delaware Valley to just two free throws while putting 18 points on the scoreboard.

Seely led Misericordia with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Sam Baro and Katie Drayton had 16 and 13 points respectively with Drayton dishing out six assists.
