DELVAL MEN'S SOCCER STAGES GREAT COMEBACK IN 3-2, DOUBLE OVERTIME THRILLER

Box Score ROSEMONT (PA) – In what was arguably was the greatest comeback in Delaware Valley College men's soccer history, the Aggies scored two times in the final 7:27 of regulation, including one with 42 seconds left, and then found the net again late in the second overtime for a 3-2 triumph at Rosemont College.

The win lifted Delaware Valley's overall record to 5-3-1 on the season while the Ravens dropped to 1-7.

Things did not look good for the Aggies when Javier Alvarado scored with 13:57 remaining in regulation to give Rosemont a 2-0 lead (Anthony Bottoms notched the first goal midway through the first half).

Then junior Steve Mannato went to work for Delaware Valley. He connected for his fourth goal of the year with 7:27 remaining as he arched one into the net. With just over a minute left, Rosemont's Bob Vetrano hit the post. Soon after, the ball made it down to the other end and Mannato put one off keeper Max McDonald's hands and into the goal to force overtime.

Both teams had two shots to no avail in the first overtime. The clock neared one minute to go in the second time and it appeared that the game would end in a tie. Then, Alec Scarano took a shot that was stopped by McDonald, but the rebound went to Jordan Robinson, who scored his second goal of the year. It came with 1:03 remaining and set off an Aggie celebration.

Delaware Valley outshot the Ravens, 29-24, and also had a 4-1 edge in corners. Freshman Andrew Priest made his first collegiate start in goal and earned the win thanks to nine saves, including two in the second overtime. McDonald finished with nine saves as well.
