DELVAL MEN'S SOCCER DROPS 1-0 CONTEST AT DESALES

Box Score CENTER VALLEY (PA) -- DeSales University used a late second-half goal to defeat visiting Delaware Valley College, 1-0, in Saturday's Freedom Conference match-up.

With the loss, the Aggies fell to 8-9-1 overall and 1-5 in league play as DeSales improved to .500 (9-9, 3-3 Freedom).

DeSales controlled most of the contest, but Delaware Valley's Chase Clement kept the match within reach with strong goaltending play. In the first half, the Aggie keeper made five saves on 10 Bulldog shots and he added another 10 stops in the second stanza.

With 11:36 left to play in the game, DeSales' Wes Frebel took a pass from Stevie Castellani and fired a long distance shot from 25 yards out that found the back of the net. The goal was Frebel's eighth of the season and proved to be the difference.

The Aggies will wrap up their season next Saturday, November 2, when they host the Valiants of Manhattanville College in another Freedom Conference match.
