DELVAL WOMEN DROP 74-67 DECISION AT MANHATTANVILLE

Box Score PURCHASE (NY) – Taylor Wilson scored 17 of her game-high 23 points in the first half as Manhattanville College built a 12-point lead and went onto a 74-67 victory over visiting Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game.

Wilson was 5-for-6 from the field, including a perfect 4-for-4 from 3-point land, in the opening 20 minutes as the Valiants (8-7, 1-4 Freedom) led for nearly the entire stanza and took a 39-27 advantage into the locker room.

The Aggies (6-10, 0-5) opened the second half with a 9-2 spurt as Agatha Drozd netted five points and Brenna Coll added four to make it a five-point contest. Manhattanville responded with six straight to put the lead back into double digits

Delaware Valley stayed within range and a Drozd trey with 3:02 remaining capped a 7-0 run and made it a 65-61 contest. The Valiants scored five of the next seven before Eireann Anastasi's layup with 76 ticks to go made it 70-65. However, Bri Papon hit a pair of free throws and, after the Aggies' missed a 3-point attempt, Wilson added two more from the line to put the game away.

Wilson finished 7-for-11 from the field (4-for-6 from 3-point land) and 5-for-6 from the foul line for her 23 points. She also added seven rebounds. Pabon finished with 21 points and five assists while Alyson Caiazzo added 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Anastasi notched the first double-double of her career as the freshman guard finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Coll had 13 points and five assists while Drozd and Shannon Barlow added 12 and 10 points respectively. Emily Soper tallied nine points and 13 rebounds before fouling out.
