DELVAL EXPLODES FOR 109-67 WIN OVER PENN STATE-LEHIGH VALLEY

ASTON (PA) – Delaware Valley College shot 60 percent from the field and notched 64 points in the first half, en route to a 109-67 victory over Penn State Lehigh Valley at the Coaches vs Cancer Classic hosted by Neumann University.

The win at the one-day event improved the Aggies to 2-2. They will now prepare for their Freedom Conference opener which will take place at King's College on Wednesday, November 28 (8:00 p.m.). It was Penn State-Lehigh Valley's season opener.

It was an explosive opening 20 minutes for Delaware Valley as it connected on 24 of its 40 shots, including a 10-for-18 showing beyond the arc. Meanwhile, its defense held the Lions to 36.4 percent shooting from the field (12-for-33).

The Aggies did trail 8-2 after the first four minutes, but they went on a 25-6 run to take a commanding, 27-14 advantage at the halfway point of the half. They hit four treys during the spurt, including two each by Cam Lee and Nick Sullivan to lead the way.

Penn State-Leigh Valley pulled to within seven, 31-24, with 7:41 remaining, but Delaware Valley outscored the Lions, 33-4, the rest of the way to take a 36-point into the break. Six different players scored over the final 7:41, including 12 points from Jeremy Beckett and nine from Francis Arnold.

Delaware Valley then built the advantage to as many as 52 in the second half. It finished the game shooting 49.4 percent from the field, including 15-for-29 (51.7%) from 3-point land. All 15 players saw action in the contest with 12 hitting the scoring column.

Sophomore Zach Sibel notched career highs of 20 points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench to lead the Aggies. Beckett had 18 points and nine boards in 18 minutes. Arnold was 4-for-5 from 3-point land and finished with 14 points. Sullivan hit a trio of treys to add 12 points.

Lloyd Irons had 31 points and 11 rebounds to pace Penn State-Lehigh Valley.
