EASTERN DOWNS DELVAL, 3-1, IN MEN'S SOCCER

ST.DAVIDS (PA) – Eastern University scored three unanswered goals to erase an early deficit and down visiting Delaware Valley College, 3-1, in the Freedom Conference finale for the both squads.

Delaware Valley fell to 8-8-1 overall and 0-7 in conference play but it is the team's non-losing record at the end of the regular season since the 1998 edition went 10-7-1. The Aggies are eligible for an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region Championship bid since they have a .500 or better record. The eight-team field, similar to Division I's NIT for men's basketball but on a regional scale, is announced on Monday, November 5.

Delaware Valley scored just 4:44 into the contest as Justin Mannato blasted a shot in the upper right corner for his third goal of the season. The Eagles (9-5-1, 3-4) tied it up 11 minutes later on a Mitch Osterhouse tally. Eastern then controlled the second half and received goals from John Remsberg (40:54 remaining) and Josh Cirocco (5:54 remaining) for the 3-1 final.

The Eagles outshot the Aggies, 28-12, and also held a 2-1 advantage in corners. Chase Clements was credited with six saves in the loss.
