WILKES-BARRE (PA) – Delaware Valley College extended its winning streak to five as the Aggies pulled out a 3-2, Freedom Conference thriller at King's College. Set scores were 26-24, 24-26, 26-24, 15-25 and 15-8.
The win improved Delaware Valley to 16-9 overall and it ended conference play with a 3-4 mark. The Lady Monarchs dropped to 9-18 and 1-6.
In the decisive fifth set, the Aggies got 11 of their 15 points on kills as they hit .429 (11 kills, 2 errors, 21 attacks) in the set compared to .167 (4 kills, 2 errors, 12 attacks) by King's.
Janel Gluch led Delaware Valley with 20 kills while
Destinee Horning added 14 kills and 13 digs.
Gina Page had nine kills and 12 digs and
Alyssa Riggins finished the evening with eight kills and 14 digs.
Crystal Ronan dished out 41 assists and dug out 21 balls.
The Lady Monarchs were led Alexa Nelson and Ellen O'Donnell as they had 13 kills apiece. Jillian Foster led the defensive effort with 28 digs and she also served up six aces. Mary Loughran added 41 assists in the loss.
