DOYLESTOWN (PA) –
Janel Gluch and
Destinee Horning combined for 25 kills as Delaware Valley College posted a 3-0, non-conference victory over Wesley College in the Aggies' final home match of the season.
Delaware Valley improved to 15-9 with three road matches remaining, including Wednesday's Freedom Conference finale at King's College. Wesley wrapped up its 2012 campaign with 6-23 record.
The Aggies honored their lone senior,
Sammy Alevras-Tarbell, before Monday night's match. Alevras-Tarbell transferred in from Mitchell College two years ago and the libero finished the evening with a team-high 15 digs.
Gluch and Horning were all-conference honorees last season and will be candidates again in 2012. Gluch finished with 14 kills while Horning added 11 kill and just one error in 22 attacks. Fellow junior
Alyssa Riggins, an all-conference pick in 2010, served up seven aces, including on three of the final four points of the match. Riggins also dug out eight balls.
Crystal Ronan dished out 35 assists.
Freshman Meghan Marshall had 11 digs for the Wolverines and, in the process, set a school-single season record in the category (434). Sharis Allen and Lindsay DiMuzio combined for nine kills and three blocks. Crista Marruffo had 15 assists and three blocks.
