DOVER (PA) –
Steve Mannato scored 3:28 into the second overtime as Delaware Valley College continued its extra-session dramatics with a 1-0 triumph at Wesley College in a non-conference game.
The Aggies improved to 6-2-1 on the season with three of the victories coming in overtime. In fact five of the nine contests have been decided in extra time (3-1-1). The Wolverines fell to 2-7-2 with the loss.
After more than 103 minutes of scoreless action,
Tyler Yankovich sent a crossing pass in front of the Wesley net. Mannato was there to put it in for his fifth goal of the season. It was also the sophomore's second game-winning tally.
The Wolverines dominated the shot total as they held a 30-6 advantage, including a 25-3 showing during regulation. They also held a 10-3 edge in corners.
Chase Clement stopped 10 shots to pick up his second shutout of the year. Ryan Sanders and Brian Zuber combined for five saves in the loss.
