PURCHASE (NY) – Manhattanville College scored twice in the opening half and the Valiants made them stand for a 2-0, Freedom Conference triumph over visiting Delaware Valley College.
Manhattanville improved to 6-5-3 overall and 3-1 in the conference with the victory. The Aggies saw their mark fall to 7-5-1 overall and 0-4 in the Freedom.
The Valiants got the only goal they needed 15 minutes into the contest as Thomas Wagner scored off a feed from Erick Olazabal. They then made it 2-0 with 54 seconds remaining in the half on an unassisted tally by Marco Blasetti.
Manhattanville finished with a 29-13 advantage in shots while the Aggies had a 5-2 edge in corners.
Chase Clement stopped 13 shots for Delaware Valley while Steve Singson had eight saves and the shutout for the Valiants.
