MADISON (NJ) – FDU-Florham raced out to a 46-9 halftime lead and cruised to an 81-42 victory over visiting Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game.
The contest marked the halfway point of conference play as the Aggies fell to 11-7 overall and 2-5 in the Freedom while the Devils improved to 9-9 and 3-4.
It was all FDU-Florham in the opening 20 minutes as they had three separate runs of 10 or more consecutive points. The Devils hit 19 of 39 shots from the field and limited Delaware Valley to a 4-for-19 effort. They forced 18 turnovers and held a 29-12 advantage on the boards.
Delaware Valley hit a third of their shots from the field in the second half, but never got closer than 28 points in the stanza.
Eleven different players hit the scoring column for FDU-Florham, led by Kyra Dayon's 14 points. Tasza Carter and Kara Dayon had 13 points apiece. The trio also combined for 13 rebounds, 11 assists and seven steals.
Emily Soper had eight of Delaware Valley's nine points in the first half and finished with 12 points and seven rebounds before fouling out. Fellow forward
